Juana's Story was initially set to air in MultiChoice territories by January 2026 but those plans fell through after TLNovelas closure. It appears as if Canal+ snatched the rights from TelevisaUnivision for its Novelas+ channels across Africa.
Synopsis for Juana's Story
Juana Guadalupe Bravo (Camila Valero) is a hard-working, ambitious 20-year-old virgin. Focused strictly on her goal to become the first woman in her family to graduate with an engineering degree, she has never had time for romance or relationships. During a routine visit to the gynecologist, a major medical mix-up occurs: the clinic accidentally performs an artificial insemination on Juana instead of another patient.
The biological father is Gabriel Rubio (Brandon Peniche), a wealthy businessman and owner of a major brewery. Having recently survived a life-threatening battle with cancer, Gabriel re-evaluates his life and realizes his deepest desire is to leave behind a child to carry on his legacy. However, his wife, Paula (Fabiola Guajardo), secretly has no interest in motherhood, leading Gabriel to seek surrogate/insemination options.
When Juana discovers her impossible pregnancy, her life and her tight-knit family's world are turned upside down. As Juana struggles to process becoming a mother without ever falling in love or being with a man, she eventually crosses paths with Gabriel. Unaware at first of their biological connection, the two are drawn to each other despite coming from vastly different worlds.
Based on the 2002 Venezuelan telenovela Juana La Virgen (Jane The Virgin), it starred Camila Valero as Juana Guadalupe Bravo, Brandon Peniche as Gabriel Rubio and Fabiola Guajardo as Camila Montes.
Juana's Story serves as one of various adaptation to the Venezuelan telenovela Juana La Virgen. With other adaptations filmed in Turkey (Hayat Mucizelere Gebe), America (Jane The Virgin) and Korea (Woori the Virgin).
Sout Van Die Aarde returns for season 2 on eExtra alongside the debut of Op 'n Afgrond
Following Op 'n Afgrond debut on eVOD last year, eMedia Investments will be making the series available to view on eExtra from 24 September. Prior to its debut, Sout Van Die Aarde launches on the channel for a second season from 21 September.
Synopsis for Op 'n Afgrond
The story kicks off with the arrival of twins, Nuh and Melek, in Cappadocia. They are seeking the mother who abandoned them years ago—Sumru.
Sumru has built a new, wealthy life as the matriarch of the Şansalan family, keeping her first children a complete secret from her husband and her current life.
When Nuh and Melek find her, they aren't just looking for a reunion; they are fueled by the pain of abandonment. Their presence threatens to dismantle the "perfect" facade Sumru has carefully constructed.
As the twins infiltrate the Şansalan world, they become entangled with Sumru's other children and business associates. This creates a web of forbidden romances and high-stakes rivalries, particularly involving characters like Cihan and Sevilay.
It starred Ece Uslu as Sumru Devresli, Aras Aydın as Nuh Çakırca, Hafsanur Sancaktutan as Melek Çakırca, Burak Tozkoparan as Cihan Şansalan, Leyla Tanlar as Sevilay Günser and Burak Sergen as Samet Şansalan.
In other developments, eMedia Investments had debuted another Turkish drama on its platforms, 'n Ma se Hart. With the show also expected to replace Maanligsprokie on e.tv and eExtra once it comes to an end in September.
