Paramount+ has ordered Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos, an Paramount+ original animated series focused on the Water Tribe Avatar three generations before Avatar Aang. Billed as the "next installment" of the iconic Avatar franchise, the announcement was made onstage in front of thousands of fans during the New York Comic-Con panel for Avatar: Seven Havens, which premiered today (Oct. 9) on Paramount+.
In Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos a rebellious teenage Avatar bucks thousands of years of tradition by choosing to learn the four elements through globetrotting adventures, staying one step ahead of his angry teacher, rowdy pirates, and chaotic spirits - all while helping the world in his own unique ways.
Panel attendees were treated to an exclusive first look at Kuruk and his pet, Nikik.
The upcoming series is produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios with co-creator Bryan Konietzko serving as showrunner.
The co-creators also revealed Avatar: Seven Havens was renewed for two additional seasons, or Books 3 and 4. Konietzko and DiMartino were joined on the panel by fellow Avatar: Seven Havens executive producer Ethan Spaulding and co-executive producer Sehaj Sethi, along with the voices of Pavi, Nisha and Jae: Saheli Khan, Aishu Devan and Major Curda. The panel gave fans exclusive insight into the making of the series, plus a special 'script to screen' clip.

Lionel Messi’s Animated Disney+ Series ‘Messi And The Giants’ Unveils First Teaser
Messi and the Giants centers on Leo, a 12-year-old boy trapped in an alternate reality ruled by giants. His route home involves competing in soccer-like battles using powerful “orbs,” taking on legendary giants, and trying to reunite the fractured realms of Iko. Messi is among the series’ executive producers, alongside Kurt Mueller, Bryan Korn, Lacey Stanton, and Guy Toubes for Sony Pictures Television; Afo Verde for Sony Music Latin Iberia; and Tom Mackay and Sergi Reitg for Sony Music Vision. Jorge Messi PĂ©rez is credited posthumously as an executive producer.
Canary Islands-based Atlantis Animation is handling animation production.
Messi and the Giants will also air on Disney Channel in the U.S. beginning in summer 2027.
