This news was shared by none other than WildEarth whose been licensing various content to People's Planet. They're only supplying content to a third party, it wasn't their place to address this but again I thank them for sending an alert.
Saying goodbye to channel 115! Starting 31 August, People’s Planet will no longer be available on OpenView, which means WildEarth is moving off the platform too.

People's Planet was a factual based channel offering environmental and wildlife programming. It was first broadcast on both DStv and Openview as People's Weather, as the name implies it was a 24 hour weather service.
Overtime People's Planet restructured their lineup to feature other content like Get Real Talk Show With Denver Naicker, Siyaya: Come Wild With Us and Tiny Homes. It gave Openview consumers an open window to SafariLIVE from WildEarth.
It only became People's Planet in 2024 and this came a few months after it was removed from Canal+'s DStv platform. By rebranding to People's Planet, the idea was to separate the weather service from the rest of their linear offering.
Unfortunately, People's Planet is going off air and neither eMedia Investments and like I said whatever is left of People's Planet is answering any enquiries. If we had to guess, People's Planet has been met with the same fate as the former Glow TV.
As mentioned, People's Planet was taken off DStv meaning the only other platform for the channel would be Openview.
People's Planet had become repetitive in recent years and this was noticeable even when it was still known as People's Weather. This channel tried to rectify this issue by dropping "Weather" from the name and adding more nature based programs.
Openview consumers will now be losing all of this content from People's Planet while as WildEarth remains available on DStv and YouTube.
