Is MultiChoice Looking To CBS Reality And CBS Justice Perhaps?

Last year, Paramount shuttered both CBS Reality and CBS Justice for consumers across Europe and Africa. Questions making the rounds now is whether MultiChoice (now under Canal+) is looking to possibly replace these channels.

During the year, Base Pulse came in place of MTV Base with Novelas+ set to replace TLNovelas. There's rumours of a new entertainment channel launching in place of BET so them possibly replacing CBS wouldn't seem far fetched.

Canal+ had told regulators that DStv consumers would be getting more content in the year and within 7 months 3 channels had been allocated: Sporty TV, Base Pulse and Novelas+.

With Canal+ Distribution (formerly Thema) that now integrated it's services onto MultiChoice with the additions of Zacu TV, Sunu Yeuf and Novelas+. We can only assume more of their services are coming to MultiChoice territories.

For CBS Reality and CBS Justice, this might as well include Canal+ Discover and/or suite of Planete+ channels which comprises of Planete+, Planete+ Crime and Planete+ Adventure. As these channels are distributed in other Canal+ regions.

Canal+ Discover (also known as Canal+ Docs) focuses mainly on original and celebrity driven content basically a mashup of ID and E!. While Planete+ focuses on educational programming with content on nature, science and history.

Programs to have been broadcast on the brands include American Pickers, The First 48, People Of The Sea and Extraordinary Railway Journeys.
